Watermelon Womxn
Posted on 11th October 2024Watermelon Womxn was a musical journey through Palestine presented by Bethlehem Cultural Festival x Habibti Nation in March 2024. Bethlehem Cultural Festival (BCF) was set up in 2020 to put the artists, arts and culture of Palestine and Bethlehem centre stage. This project was held over from December 2023’s festival which was cancelled following the violence of the previous October.
Supported financially by the Performing Rights Society Collaborative Music Fund and Creative Scotland, these two events were framed as a time for reflection. They each featured performances by three female Palestinian artists followed by a Q&A moderated by LUMA.
