Ramzi Shomali
After completing his Piano studies at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM) in Bethlehem, Ramzi went on to pursue his studies in Italy at the Vicenza Conservatory of Music, where he obtained his second academic Diplomas in Piano Performance and in Chamber Music in 2015.
In 2012, he debuted with the Vicenza Conservatory’s Symphonic Orchestra, performing Chopin Concerto Op.21. He won several competitions in Palestine and Italy, including ‘Marcel Khalife’ National competition and ‘Carlo Tavasani’ (Jerusalem), Premio ‘Dal Corno’ and Premio ‘Amici del Conservatorio’ for chamber groups (Vicenza). Ramzi’s gave his first solo recital at age of 13 at St. Lewis University in Chicago (USA) and since then he has given solo concerts in Bethlehem, Paris and numerous Italian cities. He participated in several festivals as Chamber musician such as Camera Ensemble del Conservatorio Festival, Italy and Evmelia International Festival, Greece. He also participated in fundraising concerts in London, Cadogan Hall, jointly with the Palestinian soprano Dima Bawab and the English Chamber Orchestra (2009) and performed at St. James Piccadilly with members of Chilingirian Quartet alongside other Palestinian musicians (2015). In 2017, he accompanied the Petits Chanteurs de Lyon and Amwaj Choir in their concert tour in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. In 2018, he performed in Duo with the Romanian violinist Stefan Simonca-Oprita in Bethlehem and performed as a soloist in Bethlehem as part of the Christmas Festival organized by the ESNCM. In December 2019, he gave another recital in Naples.
